ICDE joins the Nordic OER Network

ICDE has joined a network of universities and other organizations from the Nordic area of Europe to promote open education and collaboration amongst stakeholders in all educational sectors.


The Nordic Open Education Alliance is a Nordic network with members from all Nordic countries and facilitates discourse and dialogue on Open Education but also participates in projects and development programmes.

Members support the idea of open education and express the intention to collaborate in the initiative to raise awareness on open educational resources (OER), to develop and improve OER or to share experiences. The Nordic OER network is a network of people and institutions with similar visions and ideas to create better education in the Nordic countries and beyond.

The following organizations are represented in the network:

  • Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, Norway
  • University of Jyväskylä, Finland
  • Lunds universitet, Sweden
  • Studiesenteret.no, Norway
  • International Council for Open and Distance Education
  • Basidia, Denmark
  • NDLA Open Educational Resources For Secondary Schools, Norway
  • Simprentis, Faroe Islands
